Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. Local storage works in a similar way. UK law treats them the same, and so does this notice: when we say “cookies”, we mean both.
Why we don’t ask for consent
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), a website must ask for your consent before it stores information on your device, unless an exception applies. This website doesn’t store anything on your device, so there is nothing to ask consent for — and no cookie banner, because a banner with nothing behind it would only waste your time.
What this website stores
Nothing. This website doesn’t store anything in your browser or on your device.
Your browser does send our server some technical information with every request, such as your IP address. That isn’t a cookie, and it isn’t stored on your device. This website is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare, Inc., which also runs the server that receives our forms; our privacy notice explains what gets logged, why, and for how long.
Cookies in the Auromis app
Signing in to the app sets a small number of strictly necessary cookies: one to keep you signed in, and one to protect your account and its forms against misuse. They are set only once you have an account and sign in, and they carry no analytics or advertising data. Under PECR they rely on the exception for storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for, so they need no consent.
If this ever changes
If we ever want to use analytics or advertising cookies, we’ll update this notice first and ask for your consent before setting anything that needs it. Saying no will be as easy as saying yes, and you’ll be able to change your mind at any time. If we ever store something that only remembers a choice, such as which version of the site you prefer, we’ll tell you here and give you a simple, free way to object.
How to control cookies
You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. Nothing on this website depends on them, so blocking them changes nothing about how the site works for you.
